Procedure

Heat oil in a cooking vessel, add the whole spices like cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, bay leaf, cumin and peppercorns and let the flavours infuse.

Add the capsicum and continue to saute.

Add the soaked Basmati Rice and saute for 2 mins.

Now add the coconut milk, green peas and water. Stir and continue to cook on high heat with a covered lid for 3 to 4 mins. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Continue on slow heat till the Basmati Rice is cooked.

This is a flavourful dish. Serve hot, along with your favourite curry.
