- 5 ounces whiskey
- 3 ounces fresh orange juice
- 4 ounces good apple cider
- 2 large sage leaves (plus 2 small for garnish)
- Freshly grated nutmeg
Recipe Description
Warming, earthy, sweet and perfect for the Autumn and Winter season. This apple sidecar is a seasonal and delicious twist on a cocktail classic. Based on the original Sidecar and the Ritz Sidecar featured in the book, whiskey was my chosen alcohol for this, but this isn’t just any whiskey. Bastille is a hand-crafted French whiskey from the Cognac region of France (Cognac is used in the original sidecar) and after tasting it’s cinnamon notes and delicate flavor would pair well with all the other ingredients.
