1 pkg- Jimmy dean sausage
1/2- Minced onion
1tsp- Butter
1 tbsp- Montreal steak seasoning
3 good shakes- Hot sauce (Frank’s)
2 tbsp- Flour
1 cup- Heavy cream
2 cups- 2% milk
1- box of Bisquick ( follow directions on side of box for biscuits)
Brown the sausage and onion
in a sauce pan and set aside. Keep the fat in pan and add butter and flour to make a rou.
Then slowly add the milk and heavy cream, whisk until it starts to thicken and then add Montreal seasoning and hot sauce. Now add the sausage to the sauce and stir. Remove from heat and place in a bowl to cool for about 20 min. then place in freezer for 30 minutes to chill down. You want the gravy to be really cold and firm.
While that’s chilling, start your biscuits. Roll your dough out to 1/4 in. thick. Use a biscuit cutter and cut out an even amount of biscuits, you’ll need tops and bottoms.
Once the gravy has cooled, place a scoop onto each biscuit and cover with a top, you may have to stretch a little to fit. Use a fork and press down on all the edges to seal the pocket.
Bake on a cookie sheet prayed with Pam and brush the tops with melted butter. Bake for 10-12 min at 450 degrees until light golden brown. ENJOY!!
