- For the pie:

- 1 15 ounce can pumpkin puree
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (freshly grated is best)
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- 3 eggs
- 1¼ cups heavy cream
- For the brown sugar meringue:
- ¾ cup egg whites
- ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 and ½ cups packed brown sugar
