- 1 cup pumpkin puree

- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- FROSTING
- ½ stick butter, softened,
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup caramel sauce
- 1½ - 2 cups powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt

These are the pumpkin cookies of all pumpkin cookies. They are soft and full of fall flavor, and the salted caramel cream cheese frosting is quite literally the frosting on the cake.
