  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 TBS rice wine vinegar
  • 4 TSP packed brown sugar

With food costing so much, this pepper steak is a great way to make something tastey that does not cost that much.  You can serve this with rice and make a delicous harty meal that everyone will enjoy.  Simple instructions and not too many ingredients make this a favorite to make any day of the week. 

Recipe Directions

 
1️⃣ In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Set aside.
2️⃣ Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the sliced flank steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook until cooked through and seared on all sides, about 8 minutes. Transfer the cooked steak to a plate.
3️⃣ In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil along with the red and green bell peppers. Cook until the peppers are softened, about 4 minutes.
4️⃣ Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook, stirring, until fragrant.
5️⃣ Return the cooked steak to the skillet and pour the prepared sauce over it. Cook, stirring, until the sauce is glossy and thickened, about 2 minutes more.
6️⃣ Serve the pepper steak over cooked white rice..
