Recipe Description

A refreshing and light sangria drink is perfect for a gathering or most any occasion. This rosé sangria is very simple and very thirst quenching. Because this is a sparkling rosé, serve it immediately while there bubbles are at their most effervescent.

This punch would be great with a charcuterie board. Because there are sweet elements, be sure to include some fruit on your board. There are already pears and apples in the drink. But, don’t be afraid to include those on your board, I’d suggest in dried or leather form. Other dried fruits would also be nice. Think about adding dried figs, apricots, cherries and other fruits you like.

Nuts are great on a charcuterie board. To pair with this dish, make sure the nuts are very salty and lightly toasted. But stay away from nuts with heavy flavorings. For example, honey roasted peanuts would be too sweet for this drink. It might make the drink taste bitter and we don’t want that. Also, stay away from smoky or barbecued flavors. These would overpower the light and fresh flavors of the cocktail.

Add some crispy and salty items to your board such as potato chips and popcorn. But, if you want to go to the next level, consider making crispy kale chips, crispy chickpeas or crispy roasted brussel sprouts. Crisp bacon also falls in this category.

Consider a few spicy elements. Nuts dusted in chili powder or slightly spicy pickles would be nice with this dish. Just be sure that they are overly spicy. You want just a hint of chili spice. You might also want some lightly spicy dips, jams or preserves. If you like sweet and spicy items, they do fit here.

No charcuterie board is complete without meat and cheese. For this drink, include lighter meats such as pulled chicken, pork carnitas, or an unsmoked pork-based ham like prosciutto. You don’t want heavy meats with heavy sauces. You can pair almost any cheese with this drink, from sweet to spicy, from hard to soft, from old to young. Just make sure you select a range of styles to give your eaters variety.
