Recipe Description

Homemade slaw is one of the quickest and easiest side dishes to add to your menu for just about any meal. It’s easy to make ahead and simple to make for a crowd. The tangy vinegar dressing is made with just a couple of pantry ingredients and makes the best vinegar slaw. This will become a favorite for friends and family. Enjoy!

Recipe Directions

  1. In a large bowl, add the olive oil, apple cider vinegar, sugar, garlic, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  2. Whisk together until well combined.
  3. If using cabbage head:
  4. I recommend removing the outter cabbage leaves.  Rinse and dry the cabbage well, then cut in half through the stem.
  5. Cut those halves in half to yield quarters, then cut the core out of each quarter. Lay each quarter on flat side, and thinkly slice into ribbons.
  6. Carrots: Peel the outside skin off of your carrots using a vegetable peeler. Remove the ends by cutting them about ¼ inch in from each end with a kitchen knife. Rinse any dirt off of the carrots by placing them under running water. Use a grater or a food processor: or just buy slaw mix.
  7. Add slaw mixture and stir until well coated with the dressing.
  8. Serve immediately or cover and chill until ready to serve.
