This is my son’s favorite cake. I make it without the fresh fruit for special occasions. He calls it ‘Twinkie Cake’. He says that this cake tastes like the best Twinkie you’ll ever have. He right. It’s like a Twinkie only made with fresh ingredients and no preservatives. I’ve made this cake a lot lately. Once for this post, but the photos weren’t up to par so I didn’t use them. The second time was last month for my son’s 7th birthday; that one was in the shape of a Mindcraft block and I had to use some food coloring to make it look as close to an actual Mindcraft block as I could. I’ll pass on showing you those photos, but take my word for it – they were a lot less pretty! Pretty or not, my 7 year old was pretty impressed so it all worked out.
