Makes 2 Dozen
* 1/2 cup white sugar
* 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
* 1/2 cup butter (one stick – make sure it is softened or room temperature)
* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup root beer
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 3/4 cup flour
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (I like the mini’s but you can use any size you want)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Using some sort of mixer, mix together both types of sugar, butter, egg, root beer and vanilla.
- Add flour and baking soda. Mix well.
- Add chocolate chips. Mix with a spoon, otherwise the mixer may chop up the chips.
- Drop teaspoon size pieces of dough 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet or silpat (non-stick silicone baking sheet). Bake 6 – 8 minutes.
5.
- Note- when first taken out of the oven they look like they are not cooked (too yellow-y/white-ish in color). For some reason after they are taken out of the oven they caramelize and get a more golden look.
