- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup dulce de leche
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 6 cups powdered sugar
- 10 pieces caramels, unwrapped
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup crushed pretzels
- 3 tablespoons caramel topping

As if what you can see on the exterior is not enough to take them over the top, it’s what you can’t see on the inside that rockets these dessert treats into a category that is virtually free of all other competitors. Dulce de leche (caramelized sweetened condensed milk) is blended with cream cheese and then deposited into the centers of these moist devil’s food cupcakes.
