Strawberry Cake Recipe by Tyricka Latonya
2 cups white sugar
1 (3 oz) package strawberry flavored jell-o
1 cup butter, softened
4 eggs room temperature and separate yolks and whites
2 3/4 cups of sifted cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup whole milk room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
The Icing
1 cup fresh strawberries
3 tablespoons of sugar
5 drops of pink food color
1 tub of cool whip
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, Grease and flour (3) 8 inch round cake pans
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and dry gelatin until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each. Combine the flour and baking powder; stir into the batter alternately with the milk. Blend in vanilla. Whip yolks into a soft peek and add to batter and fold in whites try not to break the whites. Then divide into cake pans.
3. Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes so whip cream doesn’t melt.
4. Cut up strawberries into small circles add sugar and refrigerate while cakes cools so roughly 30 minutes
5. Once cake has cooled and strawberries are kinda syrupy. Add the food color to the whip cream and begin to layer the cake with whip cream and strawberries.
