Recipe Description

These Cute Witch Boot Cupcakes are perfect for Halloween and will quickly become a crowd favorite!

Halloween is fun – not for the scary, spooky side, but for the cute decorations and delicious treats. I saw these cute witch boots on toothpicks on Pinterest, and I knew I needed to use them to get creative for some cupcakes.

I absolutely LOVE cupcakes.  I used a chocolate chocolate chip cupcake mix with marshmallow buttercream frosting and yellow sugar stars. The Witch Boot Cupcakes were born!

The Melted Witch Cupcakes are cute, and so easy to make! Do not let them intimidate you, because I am not crafty, but loved how they turned out. I sent them to my husband’s work, and all his co-workers gave them FIVE STARS. They would be perfect for your next Halloween party.

Recipe Directions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line pans with cupcake liners.

Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the eggs, oil, milk, sour cream, and vanilla extract and mix until thoroughly combined.

Step 3: Add in the cake mix and stir until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips.

Step 4: Fill cupcake liners about 3/4 of the way full, then bake for 18-22 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Frosting

Step 5: Whip the butter on medium-high for a good 4-5 minutes, stopping to scrape the bowl once or twice.

Step 6: Reduce the speed to low, and slowly add the powdered sugar. You can add more or less powdered sugar depending on how thick you want your icing.

Step 7: Once the powdered sugar is all incorporated, add in vanilla extract and marshmallow creme.  Use purple food coloring for color.

Step 8: Pipe frosting onto each cupcake. You can use an actual piping bag, or you can put the frosting in a ziplock bag and cut the corner. Then squeeze the bag as you would a piping bag.

You can purchase the toothpick boots on Amazon.com. simply add the boots and the sugar stars.
