The lemonade turns purple in color from blue when lemon is added due to butterfly pea powder.  This is an easy and fun recipe to make with kids! It gives them a science experiment and cooking class in one! This recipe uses a homemade simple syrup, fresh lemons, and butterfly pea powder for the magic. 

Recipe Directions

Directions:
Make simple syrup by combining the water, sugar, and butterfly pea powder in a saucepan set over medium heat. Stir it and allow sugar to dissolve for 2 minutes.
Then remove from heat and cool completely.
Fill a pitcher with ice. Then pour in simple syrup.
Add the filtered water.
Squeeze in fresh lemon juice. Watch as the lemon juice trickles down to meet the blue mixture, it turns purple! Stir it all up to combine and enjoy!
Then save leftovers to make a 21+ cocktail, because this social quarantine is rough on the parents
