Apple Banana Chia Seed Smoothies – these delicious and refreshing smoothies are perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack anytime.

I love chia seeds, they are a super food, full of omega-3 fatty acids, protein, antioxidants and fiber. Chia seeds are so versatile and one of my favorite ways to use them is in smoothies.

I love using frozen bananas in smoothies, such as this, as then you don’t need to add ice, which can melt and water down the smoothies. Chia seeds are also natural thickeners, as they expand when they absorb liquid. So, if you can’t enjoy the whole batch immediately, these smoothies keep quite nicely in the refrigerator.
