Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs flank steak
  • 1 medium lime
  • 2 TBS. Soy Sauce
  • 2 TBS Tomato Sauce (can use ketchup)
  • 2 TBS apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 TBS chili powder
  • 2 Teaspoons cumin
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon pepper
  • 2 TBS olive oil
  • 12 Corn Tortillas
  • 1/4 onion (red or your favorite) chopped
  • 1/2 cup cheese (feta is best)
  • chopped cilantro for topping

Recipe Description

If you enjoy using your instant pot, this is a recipe you must try.  Enjoy a Taco Tuesday with Carne Asada Tacos.  They are deicious, easy and just a few ingredients.  Your family will be asking for more.  Who loves Tacos?  Everyone... In 30 minutes you will have a meal for the entire family that is tasty, looks amazing and fills you up.

Recipe Directions

 

  • Mix the lime juice, soy sauce, tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, paprika, and 1 Tbsp of the olive oil together for the marinade.
  • Marinate the steak in an airtight container overnight (or at least for an hour before cooking), making sure it is compeletly covered in the marinade.
  • When ready to cook, turn the Instant Pot on the "Sauté" feature.
  • Add 1 Tbsp of the olive oil to the Instant Pot and cook the marinated steak for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Turn the "Sauté" feature off and pour in the remaining steak marinade.
  • Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set the pressure release valve to "Sealing" and set to "Manual" (high) pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Once the countdown has finished, let the Instant Pot naturally release on the "Keep Warm" setting for another 10 minutes.
  • Set the pressure release valve to "Venting" to release any remaining steam.
  • Once the float valve has dropped, open the lid.
  • Cut the steak into small cubes and place in corn tortillas.
  • Top the tacos with freshly chopped red onion, cheese, and cilantro!
