Recipe Description
So what is Italian chicken cacciatore really ? It is a hunter style chicken stew, which originally was made with whatever the peasants would hunt that day, pheasant, rabbit, wild stuff; but nowadays it is more commonly made with chicken or hen and some type of wild mushrooms in a wine tomato sauce with herbs and mushrooms.
Now, Italian chicken cacciatore can me made with a red wine sauce base or a white wine base.
