- 2 cups (225 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (approx 88 g - cocoa weights vary slightly) cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate or dark chocolate
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups (454 g) sour cream
- ½ cup (118 ml) vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs*
Recipe Description
This chocolate cake requires no box mix, no boiling water, and the batter has REAL chocolate. I spent a lot of time developing this recipe after having disappointing results from some of the other popular recipes. This results in a beautiful cake each with loads of chocolate flavor.
