- 12 ounces andouille sausage
- 1/4 teaspoon cajun seasoning
- 3/4 cups uncooked grits
- 3 cups water
- 3 teaspoons chicken bullion
- 1 & 1/2 cups shredded smoked gouda cheese
- 1 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 & 1/2 cups heavy cream
- drizzle olive oil
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- salt to taste
Recipe Description
A Cajun/Southern dish. A bed of creamy cheesy grits topped with shrimp and andouille sausage that have been cooked in a homemade Cajun sauce. The Cajun sauce has a cream base to it, that further adds flavor to the grits. And the grits are no ordinary cheese grits. These grits have delicious cheeses and cream mixed in to create wonderful flavors. Then top the this dish with additional cheeses and green onions when serving, and you have a tasty meal.
