Recipe Description

DESCRIPTION: It’s easy to make delicious meatballs for your ketogenic dinners. And this Asian-inspired recipe will provide you with a ton of delicious flavors.

How to make delicious meatballs

  • Choose the meat – you can use ground beef, pork, turkey, or chicken. Each meat will provide a slightly different flavor. You can also combine the meats.
  • Add some vegetables – adding a small amount of flavorful vegetables (well diced) will provide texture as well as flavor to your meatballs. Onions, fresh herbs, scallions, leeks are all great options.
  • Add in spices and seasoning – these provide even more flavor to your meatballs. You can make them spicy, salty, garlicky, or even gingery just by changing up the spices and seasoning. For these Asian meatballs, I used sesame oil, tamari sauce, ginger, and garlic to get the flavor just right.
  • Optional binding agent – many meatballs might use flour as a binding agent. But you can often omit this ingredient or use a whisked egg instead.

A great sauce to enjoy the meatballs with

And of course, to make the dish even more tasty, you’ll want to accompany the meatballs with tasty sauce. For this keto Asian meatballs recipe, I paired it with a simple and very traditional dipping sauce.

You can use this dipping sauce with a variety of meats and even fish to provide some Asian flourish to your meals.

Recipe Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400 F (200 C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine all of the meatball ingredients. Form mixture into 10 to 12 meatballs. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until cooked through. While the meatballs are cooking, make the dipping sauce and spinach sauté.
  • To make the dipping sauce, add all the dipping sauce ingredients together in a small bowl.
  • To make the spinach side, sauté the spinach in the avocado oil. Add in the basil, ginger, garlic, and tamari sauce.
  • Serve meatballs with spinach and dipping sauce.
