Depending on where you live, green beans may have a different moniker. They’re also known as French beans, string beans, snap beans, fine beans, and squeaky beans.
Green beans are extremely popular around the world. This may be attributable to their ability to grow in varied climates, as well as their rapid growth cycle. Green beans can go from planting to maturity in as little as 45 days.
Blairsville, Georgia actually has an annual green bean festival, which boasts an entire day’s worth of food, fun, and frivolity.
Green beans come as pole beans, which like to climb, or bush beans, which prefer to stay low to the ground. Bush beans mature a bit faster.
Ironically, green beans can also be yellow or purple.
