Recipe Description
This recipe has a great smokey slow cook taste. When slow cooked in the crock pot/slow cooker/pressure cooker, the meat is so tender & great with your favorite sides, however it can also make some outstanding steak sandwiches.
It is an easy prepped recipe & can be cooked in a crockpot, slow cooker or pressure cooker. but can also be cooked in the oven. Serves between 4-6.
Recipe Directions
Tenderize steaks with mallet and season with a little salt and pepper.
Add to crock pot.
Top with peppers, onions & any other additional desired veggies.
In a large bowl, mix together the fire-roasted tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, thyme and salt and pepper.
Pour over steaks.
Toss a couple bay leaves on top if desired.
Cover & cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. If cooking in oven, then pre-heat oven to 350°, then cook for 30-45 minutes. Steaks might not be as tender.
Remove bay leaves before serving.
Notes:
**If sauce mixture seems extremely thick, add a little water or any kind of broth to thin just enough to pour over steaks.**
~Other extra veggies I use often: great recipe to customize to your taste.
shredded carrots
red & yellow peppers
baby spinach (usual add to the crock pot at the last 20 minutes or last 10 minutes if cooking in oven)
If desired, a splash of red wine or cooking sherry can be added to the sauce mixture
