Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 14 oz cans chicken broth
- 3 neck bone
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups frozen onions
- 2 cups frozen green pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 garlic cloves, minced (I used a garlic press)
- 1 15-ounce can chopped tomatoes with juice
- 1 pound your choice sausage sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 1/2 bag of frozen Tiger tail Shrimp
- 4 cups cooked long grain brown rice
Recipe Description
Shrimp gumbo recipe minus the okra. This is a great meal for a large family or for a chilly fall day. I used chicken thighs in this recipe because in my opinion it is more moist and tender than chicken breast. We love to have this Gumbo with brown rice and corn bread. Our family favorite is Jiffy Mix.
