Ingredients
- 1 and ½ pounds of large cooked shrimp (leave tails on for presentation)
- 1 cup cocktail sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (or more to taste)
- 1 tablespoon of hot sauce (more or less to taste)
- ¾ cup of seeded chopped tomatoes
- ¾ cup of diced avocado
- 1 teaspoon of lime juice
- 1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro
- salt to taste
- For garnish: lime wedges, cilantro sprigs and sliced chiles (optional)
Recipe Description
This recipe starts with the shrimp. You’ll want a larger shrimp, at least 21-25 pieces per pound. You can buy pre-cooked shrimp or cook it yourself in a pan or in a quick dip of a pot of boiling water. The shrimp sit in a pool of cocktail sauce and then are topped with a fresh tomato and avocado relish.
